This week, Grace from Creative Minds introduced the medium of air drying clay. We didn’t need any special skills because Grace had brought along textured items so we could simply make imprints if we wanted to.
Grace showed us how to roll out the clay on hessian to prevent sticking and how to use depth guides for an even slab.
We were free to collect leaves or other items from outside if we wanted to add these to our work, and Grace had brought in some previously made items to inspire us.
We used a huge variety of different techniques to make our clay pieces. There was 3D modelling, relief work, debossing with objects and fabrics, coil building, pinch pots and slab building.

As a group, we produced some fabulous finished pieces that we were able to feel really proud of.
Howdy! I could have sworn I’ve been to this website before but after reading through some of the post I realized it’s new to me. Anyhow, I’m definitely happy I found it and I’ll be bookmarking and checking back frequently!
