Every day, people living with mental health challenges face isolation, stigma, and the feeling that no one truly understands what they’re going through. At Trowbridge Service Users Group (TSUG), we know that one of the most powerful forms of support comes from someone who has walked a similar path.
That is why we’re inviting people with lived experience of mental health to join our growing team of volunteers and trustees.
Could You Make a Difference?
You don’t need formal qualifications or years of experience. If you’ve experienced mental health challenges and are in a position where you’d like to support others, your understanding, compassion, and life experience are incredibly valuable.
Many of our volunteers tell us that helping others has also helped them regain confidence, build friendships, and discover a renewed sense of purpose.
Join Us on Thursday 20th August
We’re holding a Volunteer & Trustee Recruitment Open Day where you can learn more about who we are, what we do, and how you could become involved.

Our doors will be open from 10:00am for our regular Arts & Crafts session, so feel free to arrive early. It’s a relaxed opportunity to meet our members, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, ask questions, and experience the friendly atmosphere that makes TSUG so special.
Why Volunteer?
As TSUG continues to grow, we want to provide even more opportunities for people experiencing mental health challenges. To make that happen, we need more people willing to share their time, skills, and lived experience.
We’re currently looking for people interested in roles such as:
- Peer Support Volunteers
- Social Media and Online Content
- Events Coordinators
- Session Support Volunteers
- Trustees to help guide the organisation
Whether you can spare a few hours each week or would like to become more involved, every contribution makes a difference.
What You’ll Gain
Volunteering isn’t just about giving back—it’s also about personal growth.
By joining TSUG, you’ll have access to:
- Free online training and learning opportunities
- Support from an experienced, welcoming team
- Opportunities to develop new skills
- Increased confidence and self-esteem
- Meaningful friendships and connections
- The satisfaction of helping others on their recovery journey
A Community Built on Understanding
TSUG is a peer-led mental health community where people are accepted without judgement. We understand that recovery looks different for everyone, and we believe that nobody should have to face mental health challenges alone.
If you’ve ever wished someone had been there for you, now could be your chance to be that person for someone else.
Together, we can continue building a community where people feel heard, valued, and supported.
We’d love to meet you on Thursday, 20th August. Come along, have a chat, and discover how your lived experience could become someone else’s hope.
