As a community group we will be at Celebrating Trowbridge with our little stand to explain what we
do and why we need your support.
During Covid and the lock down we continued to support our members and although covid did have
a major impact our structure and service; but we continued to support our members and focused or
returning our services which we have done to some extent.
We have managed to partner with Trowbridge Future to provide our members with a Mindfulness
session and a drop-in session. As well as our existing partnership with the Town Hall which give us
our creative session.
Today we teamed up with Nicola Davis Crafts to provide a craft session to create a banner for our
stand at Celebrating Trowbridge. Nicola having beaten anorexia is a fund raiser for Beat, the UK’s
number one eating disorder charity and is a self-taught artist from Wiltshire and began specialising
in the bright and bold art of silk painting in 2014, aged just 17.
Nicola won multiple Young Entrepreneur awards, and her work is sold to customers in over 25
countries, appeared on Channel 4’s ‘Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas’ and had her scarves appear in
episodes of Emmerdale and The Walking Dead. For more information on Nicola Her Book, Her work

Nicola took our basic logo and added it to a silk stretched over a frame which were filled by
members of the group, each member got to add their own element to the banner. These elements
included things they did at the group or what the group meant to members.
Nicola took her time and explained what to do and explained how to fix mistakes (very useful) the
session was filled with fear and trepidation and lots of laughter and everyone giving it a go. The joy
of this session will last for an eternity and each time Trowbridge Service Users group flys that banner
it will be a reminder of everything our group stands for!
