Once again, we are asking for help. We are hoping to raise £1500. This will be used to help run our service for another year. Mental health provisions are limited at best and often have a long waiting list. Our service is free and self-referral and instant with different groups with different activities.
Our main goal is to reduce isolation and loneliness caused by long-term mental illness and create a network of support. This does influence the health service with our members reaching crisis less they are not using the poor support available for those in crisis.
We also support our members when they are having a hard time by reminding them that we and all group members are them to offer any support needed including collecting them and returning home. Our members also have access to 1 to 1 support which like counselling allows our members to look at the problem and find effective solutions.
Trowbridge Service Users’ Group is run by volunteers and for the last four partnered with the Town Hall and Trowbridge Future to provide our service. But now we have our own location and can provide more services.
This is why we are seeking this help to raise £1500, help will help to keep our arts and craft group going, to start our evening group, we have plans to start a gardening project and a weekend group.
